Middle Fork Campground, Natural Bridge State Resort Park
Another easy start to our day from a hotel. Arrived in Lexington around 11:30 or so and spent about two hours looking around Waveland State Historic Park. There was a pre-civil war house with three original outbuildings - slave quarters, smokehouse and ice house. We took a guided tour, and learned about the family and enslaved people who lived and worked at Waveland.
Got on the road and drove to our destination, Natural Bridge State Resort Park where we were going to meet up with Joan and John. Beautiful campground with lots of families. After dark, we hear splashing around in the creek — turns out one of the kids was out trying to catch crawdads.
